Let's take a look at a _real_ Yacht for a minute http://www.capricornyacht.com/specs-decks/ See those comments about the 4 Staterooms? King size beds with walk around, walk in closets? Those are decks 2 and 3, and the center of deck 4. Crew quarters are those 4 little rooms in the bow of deck 4. 4 little rooms... and 8 crew. So, yeah, the 8 crew are in a volume of about 2 of the smaller passenger staterooms. They're in the bow, where there's more wave action. I don't think I was _that_ out of line on the situation. Someone else made the comment about slipping into the pool when the boss is asleep - there's that. Friend of mine works for Norwegian cruise lines as one of the 2 network engineers on the ship. He's listed as the lowest level officer rating you can get, but officers get access to passenger ameneties, so he gets the same awesome food, pool , etc when off-shift. He also has zero expenses for 10 months out of the year (other 2 months ship is in refit) so it works pretty well.
