On a starship, in my opinion, perhaps.

If the space could handle spacing given life, cargo, supplies and also
easily accessible to be able to do that, yes.

If the fire was interior and surrounded by other things, it would be
difficult.  I think sometimes it might be easier to fight the fire given
size and equipment and people available.

On my ship the sick bay was one deck below the waterline and just port of
the centerline hall.
