Public Response to Private Inquiries re: Reddit r/Traveller Jeff Zeitlin 01 Jun 2025 21:46 UTC

I have been asked by individuals participating both here and on Reddit's
r/Traveller why I do not post my announcements of new issues of FT on the
latter.

I tried, once. The announcements were immediately getting shadow-banned as
were all my other attempts to participate in the group. Even having the
moderator of r/Traveller explicitly approve me wasn't enough. I appealed to
the Reddit network moderators. Their response was to perma-ban me. No
reason for the shadow ban or the perma-ban was ever given; I can only
hypothesize that my announcement of the release of an issue of FT was
considered spam.

Since I have been told BY THE NETWORK - NOT THE MODERATOR OF R/TRAVELLER -
that I am not welcome there, I will not attempt evade their ban to
participate there.

I have previously asked that my announcements _not_ be relayed from here or
from the Mongoose or CotI forums to Reddit; this is not because of
(justified) hostility to Reddit (but NOT to r/Traveller); rather, I do not
wish any participant on r/Traveller to be prospectively contaminated with
my presumed spammer cooties. I stand by that request.
