Evolution is a giant lego set; you find all sorts of unexpected block re-uses -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs Interesting bit in the wikipedia article on hydrothermal vents. Seems that the giant tube worms found there use hemoglobin... They use it to transport hydrogen sulfide to the bacteria that live in their bodies. The bacteria use the H2S to produce ebnergy and the compounds they excrete are what the tube worms live on. Now *that* is a use for hemoglobin I'd never have expected! ----- The Traveller Mailing List Archives at http://archives.simplelists.com/tml Report problems to xxxxxx@simplelists.com To unsubscribe from this list please go to http://www.simplelists.com/confirm.php?u=SVsSnnCJk1ACiTghqxnWgr8yCl9WeXKi
