OBTrav: The PCs attend the christening of a new battlestation, the afterparty of which involves some ladies of the night dancing on the head of the meson cannon. Having been built by the lowest-bidder, the meson gun inadvertently "burps" at the worst possible moment. TNS and other news agencies catch wind of the incident, and the PCs are tasked with keeping the whole thing under wraps. (Or, if one of the PCs is a journalist, you can have them playing for the other side.)
