The above made me curious, so I began googling. In the wikipedia article entitled "Future of the Royal Navy," toward the bottom under "Speculative Order," I discovered the following statement:

"Although nothing has been officially stated, the Royal Navy may have declared interest in the procurement of the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, for operation in a number of different roles."  

So possibly an evaluation flight?
