Bit of a long shot...

... I can usually answer most questions students come to me with, or at least point them in the right direction of information/sources that will help, but this one was trickier.

An engineering student who was after (ideally blueprints) neonatal incubator design.  But a bit beyond the size measurements that are easy enough to find via Google etc.  She - yes, a she, quite rare amongst my engineering students - wanted air flow and temperature management specs that kind of thing.

Knowing the TML is a hive of off-beat info, I wondered if anyone here could point me to something that might help?  (We had a good go at searching for manuals as PDFs and fairly specific words.)

My apologies for interrupting but here's my quick OBTRAV thoughts to make up for it:

A doctor needs 12 incubators shipped to the next world where med tech is more able to deal with the problems that have arisen with these particular babies.
1. as the doc says, easy cargo run
2. as the doc says but the incubators need specialized care (provided by nurses who will accompany them) and very specific power/temperature requirements which the cargo bay and ship's systems can provide but only under careful/constant supervision
3. as 2 but the nurses don't get out much (their world has strict gender segregation - or perhaps profession segregation or something) and the crew seem remarkably attractive to them
4. as 2 but the incubators were not built on the origin world and are at the end of their lives and very temperamental.  If the crew can nurse, ahem!, them through to the destination and return with new ones, they'll find it's a profitable cargo
5. the doc never said they were *human* babies...
6. as 5 but they're alien babies near the end of their gestation period ... and they get out
7. as 6... and they're nasty....
8. as 7... *and* they're psionic
9. as 1 but war is breaking out, missiles landing, and the docking bay is flooded with desperate refugees who'd all survive the journey where the babies might not... who do the PCs prioritise?
10. as 1 or 2 but the doc has kidnapped the babies from an elite hospital for the very wealthy with the intention of a) ransoming them; b) cloning them; c) brainwashing the next generation of leaders; d) getting life saving offworld medical treatment that is ethically dubious or against the religion of the origin world

Right.  I'd better start packing up, nearly time to go to the pub.  On the in between months of The Traveller Adventure we have our normal library book group.  Tonight: Dracula!   I should take along the JTAS adventure that it reminds me of.  Werewolf Disease, was it?  Or Geria Transfer or something.  Hmmmm...  perhaps I'll save it for a side venture on Traveller night.  :-)
