Yes, I know that this is really not for everyone and probably not for most, and escapism is fine. I mentioned before that Traveller probably didn't even need to get as computational as it did in the original LBBs - I have met people for which a single square root is an absolute game killer and and they're just not looking for that, though they will bring a disconcerting number of drawings of Vargr females to the gaming table and that gets into game killer for me. 
 
Unfortunately, the Traveller community is already small enough that further fragmenting it into less scifi and more scifi isn't really that helpful. Oh well.

It sounds like we're roleplaying the mission to Mars, not a game where
we play for escapism.
