As others have said, the limit is 7.7 LY of total travel.  This is said to be a theoretical limitation of the technology.  "Better" drives (TL 9 thru 12) are just somewhat faster.

Interestingly, The book "Ranger" suggests that the ancient Eber had stutterwarp with a range of at least 9.4 LY!  Sadly, this was never followed up on.
