Thing is, if you can achieve (and maintain) orbital height with CG, then you can just aim your thrust perpendicular to the surface and start accelerating. At 1g you'll be up to orbital speed in no time, at which point you can cut the CG.

I'm more concerned with CT/MT. I'll probably never grow out of
that. CG is described in much more detail in TNE than it is in
CT/MT. I'll read the Striker rules again. They go into more
detail. But the only CT/MT contragrav referrence that I saw outside of
Striker briefly touched on the idea that an Air/Raft could reach orbital
height in a throw away comment that never talked about acheiving
orbital velocity.
