MT Starship Operators Manual has an explantion on how a ships M-Drive Thrusters can be used to hover a ship. The fields generated by the thurster plates can be shifted, though this shift lowers it strength. This is over come by "Overdriving" the plates temporialy which can be done for short amounts of time safely. This aloows ships coming into to land to hover and move to their assign parking slot. It is also used to move a ship from it's parking slot to takeoff. It can also be used to move a ship about on world from parking to hanger, for mantience.
