Evening PDT Evyn,

Yes, Striker Book 2 Rule 75 p. 41 does discuss converting starships and interplanetary vessels (CT's non-starship and small craft) M-Drive ratings to Striker movement using the grav vehicle speed table. The grav vehicle speed table is linked to Striker Book 3 that requires knowing the vehicle's weight in tons and grav generator thrust in tons to determine the G-rating which is associated with speed in kilometers per hour.

Using Striker Book 3 Vehicle Rating Step I p. 11 "

CT Striker Book 3 Vehicle Rating Step I p. 11 "A  grav vehicle has Gs of acceleration equal to its thrust in tons divided by its weight in tons. One G is needed to to keep the vehicle in the air (and if the thrust is less than 1 G, the vehicle cannot move); thrust in excess of one G is used for maneuver. Thus to find maneuver Gs, subtract one from the total G value."

CT Striker Book 3 pp. 29 - 30 has four examples of grav vehicles. The Imperial Marine Grav APC is listed as having a total volume of 168 m^3 or 12 d-tons that weighs 600 tons with grav generators that provides it with 1.5 Gs of acceleration.

Inserting the known values my equation is 1.5 G = Grav Generator thrust in tons / the weight of 600 tons = 1.5 x 600 = 900 tons of thrust produced by the grav generators.

I do not know what the mass of a CT starship, non-starship, or small craft is so that I can determine the amount of thrust the grav generators need to produce the maneuver Gs per CT Striker Book 3 construction rules. I am of the opinion that a 1,400 m^3 starship or non-starship probably weighs more that a 168 m^3 grav vehicle. Of course I may be out to lunch.

Afternoon PDT Evyn MacDude,

Yes, CT Striker Book 3 p. 8 does have comments about how grav generators operate in reference to ground vehicles which in theory can be used by water craft, missiles, drones, and aircraft. The information provided states that grav generators require 0.1 MW of power per ton of thrust. I have played around with the idea of importing CT Striker grav generators into CT Book 2 and Book 5. So far I have not figured out a method I like.

Tom, Try Striker Book 2, p41, Rule: 75 Naval Vessels, as well. Which expressly discusses Ships.

I got Distracted there... CT's model from this base is Grav drives are Thrust like devices.

THough to be honest I have used the static concept in my games over the years, In that I like Landspeeders and in visual reference they tend to just hover there... (Note, in this way all the "Tank-like" vehicles in Traveller art make sense. Whereas they don't in the vtol model)
