It was sad to hear this news late last night.  Loren has inspired my imagination, he's enabled adventures with friends across the years, and he's encouraged me to write through the pages of JTAS.  His contribution to my life cannot easily be measured but is woven through the decades like a bright silver thread against the blackness of space.

I have no doubt we will raise a glass for Loren at TravCon in a fortnight and we will venture into worlds of wonder that weekend, in no small part, thanks to his work, his creativity and his life.  He'll be much missed even by those of us who never met him I'm sure.  And I'll treasure my autographed GURPS Traveller hardback that much more!

Wherever you are, raise a glass to one of the men who made Traveller great.
