Notes for a traveller game
125 years ago the Empire fell into civil war, we no longer understand the causes of the various factions, or what they hoped to achieve. We do know that 5 years after the start the last merchant starship to call here left. After another 15 years our tech base started to break down and what we had as a civilization started to fall apart. A hundred years ago the mercenary leader General Kertzov staged a coup and grabbed the reins of power.
Kertzov did away with much that was wrong with our colony and did much to preserve our culture and tech base. Fifty years later he was succeeded by his son when he died, General Kertzov the second, has maintained his hold on the reins of power and slowly we have rebuilt our lost technology.
According to our records on one of the worlds of the distant companion star was a research station, where hopefully there will be a functioning imperial database with records of all the tech base of the lost imperium.
It has taken 3 months for our fleet of tech level 8 ships to cross the void to the companion system, the fuel from the tanker ships has been used to refuel the mother ship in preparation for our return flight. Now we have 6 months to find the research station and loot it for its knowledge and tech base.
