Perhaps the creatures are central figures in a now-obscure Sylean religious sect (which if the applicable records had survived the Long Night would turn out to be a syncretism of Solomani Christmas traditions with Vilani ancestor worship). Every year, hunters trap them in the high mountain preserves on Sylea and Rare Exports ships them out to Sylean recreationists scattered across the Empire. When the chartered vessel headed into the campaign area breaks down, the PCs are contracted to complete delivery of the cargo. This is a good excuse for the party to visit all the important worlds in the campaign area. And - of course - at some point along the way the low-berth containers transporting the creatures break down and the cargo undergoes automatic emergency revival. Given their innate hardiness, most of the creatures successfully revive. Much to the party's distress . . .

No, the subject isn't a typo.

I'm sure many of you recall the Rare Exports videos (and some of you
may even have seen the movie)

For those who haven't...
(drat the original two shorts aren't available on youtube anymoree)

Anyway, what if these "Santa Claus" or "Father Christmas" tcreatures
are a minor human race (or something *related* to humans) on some
fringe planet.

The PCs are contractyed to carry a cargo of them. This could get
*really* interesting.

Try to track down the Rare Exports Inc safety Instructions video to
see why.

Basically, they fly into a rage at swearing, "naughty" behavior,
drinking of alcohol, or smoking.

And they are strong , fast and tough. So much so that they just might
escape if the PCs (or any NPCs on the crew) ignore the safety
warnings...
