A while back (two years? three? longer?) there was a discussion of what would happen if the unstable sun of a major cannon Traveller system went nova. As a side note to that, *I* wondered if it would be possible for the duty shift in the planet's deep meson sites to survive.

Ultimately, the answer turned out to be "No. Those sites would get vaporized along with the rest of the planetary crust."

But it was sure fun getting there!
