I'm thinking about Meson Guns as described in High Guard and I'm
wondering:

     If I can dig fusion tunnels in planetoid, can I do the same inthe
     crust of a planet?

     Can I carve out enough space for: A Factor T Meson Gun, A power
     supply, fuel, a computer, and living quarters big enough to fire
     the gun? All of that and the biggest possible Meson Screen.

This is obviously being designed as a planetary defense emplacement.

Has this been discussed before on the list?
