Um... According to my sources, 1 hectare is approximately 2.5 acres. I think you're getting mixed up between metres squared and square metres - 1 hectare is 100m squared, not 100 square metres.

No, but it only requires a bit of work with a calculator...

5280 feet in a mile * 12 in * 2.54 cm = 160934.4
divide by 100 to get meters = 1609.344
squared for a square mile = ~2.58999e6
divided by 640 acres = ~4046 m^2
divided by 100 = ~40.46 hectares to the acre.
