The wiki article also noted this, but went on to comment that it was doubtful if one could build a system smart enough which was also able to survive the extreme temperatures of meteoric reentry, at least for installation in a "vehicle" that small.

But for a larger (telephone-pole) scale weapon or at a Traveller tech level of 10+?
