I recall that from the book, but I also have the FASA Trek supplement Klingons (1st and 2nd eds), which Ford collaborated on. He was friends with the founders of FASA, and they got the contract to make the Klingon supplement at the same time he got the green light to write TFR, so they jointly developed the background for use in the book and the game.

His only other Trek book I recall, How Much For Just The Planet? was fun, but didn't really add much to his portrayal of Klingons in TFR.
