Another Old Dog learns some New Tricks.

Raytheon announces an upgrade for the M60A3 Patton tank.  businessinsider.com/one-of-the-oldest-us-tanks-is-about-to-get-much-more-lethal-2016-5

"The Raytheon M60A3 Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) features a 950-horsepower engine (a 200-horsepower improvement), a 120mm main gun, new fire control and targeting systems with thermal and day sights, and more reactive motors to move the turret and main gun."

Explicitly aimed at militaries that can't afford a top tier Abrams/Leopard II/Armata tank but want to be able to match the lethality of those tanks either to have an overmatch capability against their neighbors' un-upgraded arnor or to keep a more advanced neighbor from considering them 'easy pickings'.
