It's their response that is in question.

I think the K'kree' response would be to 'smite the predator' not 'run, hide, & pretend/hope it doesn't really exist'.

Arguably, the K'kree have two classes of problems:  predators and the environment.

Predators, arguably, the normal response is to stomp them to paste, assuming the predator is of a suitable size to be stomped, and dwells on land.

Environmental problems (fire, flood, famine, rivers in your migration path, eventually encountering an ocean) will require some other solution.

(also, presumably, the K'kree are only worried about predators that would attack K'kree, and would tolerate the sort of small predators that would prey on agricultural pests that would otherwise eat the harvest.  You don't have to like cats and foxes, but if you kill all the cats for being predators, the mice, rabbits, and other vermin eat your harvest.

Unless you're going to kill them, too.  But if you kill the herbivores, that would make you a predator, too, even if you don't eat them.  Or maybe not, IDK.

(I'm not sure how the K'Kree deal with things like sharks, whales and other filter feeders, or small predators like cats and foxes, or insectivores.)

But potentially, the Hivers could have been reclassified as an environmental problem rather than a predator problem, at least by the leadership.
