It's live, just moving as fast as they thought it would.

By an and Large 1st and 2nd are largely compatible with each other and CT, as Character generation and the Task and Skills system are largely unchanged (the only really strong sections from mongoose)

As usually the technical sections are only marginal, they changed Vehicles and Starships for no real improvement of play (I was in the middle of the Playtest arguing with three different people Plus Matt about Damage scales the needly complexity is all them... 9-( )

2) Do the changes 1stEd/2ndEd have any bearing in the Mongoose Settings? That is, will there be a MgT:2300AD 2nd Ed, or is this inconsequential due to a separation Rules/Setting?

There discussion of a new main Rule Book.....

3) Are the "Third Imperium" setting products of Mongoose worth it for somebody who has a decent ClassicT/MT/Gurps:T library?

While they are amusing in places, MgT is looking to never have a complete range there. (with the death on one of the unfinished manuscripts author and the edition change and all...)

Would I buy the Dead Tree Edition? No... PDF, sure....
