Hello carlos,

As far as I can tell from looking at Mongoose's site for up-coming releases MgT is going to be updated to 2e.

I can confirm that Starship design has been moved to HG 2e which, in theory, will be released as a PDF in July and in paper format in September. I have a PDF copy of MgT Core Rulebook 2e and the ship designs do have different specifications in the drives and power plant that I can see. I discovered this when I started to go through the Ship Deign ruled in MgT Core Rulebook 1e.

So far the Character Generation and Universe/World Generation rules appear to be compatible between both editions.

I can not comment on either the Third Imperium or how MgT 2e affects MgT 2300 AD.

Subject: [TML] Mongoose Traveller 2nd Ed

After reading a review of Mongoose Traveller 2nd Edition in rpg.net I am considering buying it. I've looked through the TML archives with the obvious search terms but did not see much discussion (If I did miss a review, I would appreciate a pointer). So, given that it is a little pricey at 30 UK pounds + shipping costs, I have a couple of quick questions:

1) Is this a "dead" product or is there an actual ongoing line in the works? I ask because I've seen hints at a "Companion" and a comment on Starship-gen rules being moved to a second book, but I've failed to find any further product, and there are clear hints that the 1stEd rules supplements are not 100% compatible with this one.

2) Do the changes 1stEd/2ndEd have any bearing in the Mongoose Settings? That is, will there be a MgT:2300AD 2nd Ed, or is this inconsequential due to a separation Rules/Setting?

3) Are the "Third Imperium" setting products of Mongoose worth it for somebody who has a decent ClassicT/MT/Gurps:T library?

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
