Bet they’d make excellent optical workbenches or balance tables. Back in the day we set our labs mettler analytic balance (accurate down to 0.1 µg, iirc) on a table made of 6” slabs of marble. Anything that needs a very flat, very dense, high inertia base to absorb vibrations.
