Loren didn't say that he was let go for general economic reasons. He didn't say that it was due to the Traveller license lapsing, either, and we can all imagine plenty of circumstances that might lead to a parting of ways.

It's definitely recovered in my field. A few years ago it was a wasteland and now I have recruiters calling constantly. I'm getting ready to walk away from a job because I don't like the contract and I'm not even particularly sought-after.

BTW, the amusement park industry is apparently booming and the parks and their vendors can't hire enough technical people (creative is a problem, although operating staff is still available). Florida is said to be crazy. In any case, amusement parks are very optional expenditures, so a boom indicates that people in the broader economy have discretionary income.
