I have recently read two works by this author: The Buntline Special (a steampunk horror story starring Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp) and The Fortress In Orion (sort of Firefly meets Ocean 11). I found them quite frustrating because while Resnick comes up with good premises and well-drawn characters, he appears to be extremely lazy [or perhaps just forgetful] when it comes to plotting.

Is he going senile? Or maybe he makes so much money that his story editors just say, "Whatever, dude." and pass his output on to the printers unread?
