I would expect that by this time people would be wired for drone control from birth, and for group interactive awareness from the age of three; I see what the family sees.

Same would follow for 'schooling' with a class nural networks integration at age of seven, etc.

By adulthood the average human being would be routinely plugging into various groups through the day.

A soldier controlling tactical drones would be only different by degrees from somone controlling their home drones to do the cooking, cleaning, driving, learning and communicationg, clothes making, redecorating, etc.

Then when the actual fight broke out - in the heavy jungle cover, in the dark (and thus using flattened-perspective night vision views) I realised that unless someone has very specialized training in handling multiple simulataneous perspectives all you're going to probably do is confuse each shooter and thus likely end up with a lot of friendly fire incidents.

So - unless you've got the time and budget to send EVERYONE through Drone Control School - a specialist drone wrangler actually makes sense.
