Hi there,

Many thanks for taking the trouble to look.

I can confirm, using my paper copy of The Traveller Periodical Bibliography copyright 1999. that a Mark "Geo" Gelinas published about ten items for MT and TNE.

Unfortunately, "The Traveller Periodical Bibliography" doesn't not list an entry for either "Dark Star". The closest title in "The Traveller Periodical Bibliography" is the Dark Nebula".

There are some additional Library Data entries for Dark River sector and short adventure seeds _Tidewater Traveller Times_, nos.16-18 and _Terra Traveller Times_, nos.19-33, 36 & 38- with a sector dot map in no.33, but of course these didn't make the Traveller Periodical Bibliography because it was only covering the main five journals of the time.

Of course, one day it would be great to do a second volume of periodical bibliography  covering 'everything else' (and everything since) - and I've made a start.  But it's a huge job and I've done about five entries!  Still, the journey of a 1000 miles...

In the copy of "The Traveller Bibliography", same copyright date, I did not find an entry for MGE or MGE Publications in the publishers list.

No, to the best of my knowledge, that's all they (he) formally put out.

Looks like I need to check the BITS site to see if the two bibliographies have been updated.

Sadly not.  You have the latest.  My PS in the last email wasn't very clear in saying that I'm right now working on a 'final draft' of the 3rd edition, but I don't know how long it will be before BITS do their magic and I'm proof-reading a ready to print version.  But hopefully we're now a month or three away rather than 'many months'.  I know it's sorely overdue and much needed.

On the web site http://www.travellerbibliography.org/ linked to the MT entry is the publisher MGE that links to a sub-page showing the front and back covers of a 44 page sourcebook titled "Dark River: A sector Divided" by Mark Gelinas copyright 1988.

Thank you for that.  I've taken a look at the site (if anyone is any doubt, that is an entirely separate project to the BITS bibliography work) and it's great to see the cover.  It doesn't, rather frustratingly, add anything to what I already knew.  But well spotted.

I may be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet money that Dark River is among the very rarest of Traveller items - despite it selling out it's initial printing.

cheers
