That's my thinking.  Not only that he can use the screen to review mission cam videos when some of his troops return from a ticket and make notes. 

More background:  The Colonel bought the building his headquarters is in with a lot of deliberate thought in mind.  Sheldon City, where the building exists, is the County seat. (IMTU a county is made up of several subsectors) and the planet Sheldon City is on is two parsecs from the frontier beyond which some of the tickets the company takes take place. 

The Colonel bought the building from an industrialist who failed to keep up with technology and their company became financially insolvent. First thing he did was gut the building (over two hundred years old) and bring the facility up to modern standards.  This saved time and money over building from scratch.  There are training facilities in the building, workout rooms, class rooms the whole nine including a shuttle hangar even though the starport is only three kilometers from the building.
