Some sort of industrial size coffee machine. A confiscated war trophy gifted to him by a noble seized from the ruined palace of a rebellious fief. Ever seen really big ornate gilded Italian steampunk like espresso machines? Like that, can make 12 cappuccinos at a time but all he uses it for is coffee black.

.... you are a retired Marine Colonel.  You own a very large company and have thousands of employees.

I've described the Colonel's office as being spacious but Spartan and very simplistically decorated.   Besides a desk, chair and plaque given to him by the last battalion he commanded, what sorts of things would you expect to see in his office?

OBTRAV:  Bjorn Heirlieff is the head of  law enforcement for four subsectors.  He has been authorized by higher ups to hire a contractor to chase down and apprehend the suspect.    Heirlieff does not like mercenaries as a rule, but there is one man he trusts to do the job and do it well.  He approaches the recpeptionist and says "I have an appointment with the Colonel."  The receptionist smiles and replies "he told me to expect you fifteen minutes early for your appointment." gesturing to the door behind her "go right on in."  At once Heirlieff is struck by the Spartan appointments of the office. The Colonel meets him half way between the door and his desk with his hand extended.
"Good to see you Mister Heirlieff, I understand you have need of my company's services."
