I know how to hunt for food, thanks. I don't know what most of the local native edible plants are though, so I'd have to learn that, and fast. The thing is, I *know* I'm better off now than I would be in a hunter-gatherer society, even one on good land (i.e. not thrown into the areas the farmers and herders can't use), because I get pretty serious hayfever without modern medication. Summer is *hell* without it, especially in a non-urban area, and I'd be unable to hunt on top of that (still able to trap and gather, slowly, mind). No thanks - I like being able to think clearly and breathe at night.

There are a lot of possible answer to this but I think the most important is that if you had not been exposed to modern life, you might not have this problem in the first place or perhaps you would have died of it young. I have also cured a lot of people with the problem by diet change and acupuncture. Imagine the allergies that might show up as we go planet hopping! BTW I used to have very bad hayfever and it was cured of all things by doing Zen meditation. I still fight with mild Asthma though but I am starting to win this battle too.
