I recall it. It (and Victoria) are "borrowed" from the 1969 novel
"Prisoners of the Sky" by C. C. MacApp.

I have a copy buried somewhere and recognized it when the adventure
was published.

Out of curiosity, I googled the above and this came up:

https://archive.org/details/1966-02_IF/mode/2up

It appears to have the full text of the magazine issue in question, including the "complete short novel" (~46 pages with several B&W illustrations).

Many thanks Richard for finding that.  I took advantage of yesterday's sun at lunchtime and the work reMarkable* I managed to have in my bag when we were shut down to work from home to read the whole of that.  While I've read the Victoria article previously, I don't think I'd ever tracked down Prisoners of the Sky and it was fascinating to see the inspirations, the similarities and the differences.  I shall keep both in mind if my players do take it into their heads to visit the world having found the map in the Annic Nova.  I can't quite imagine what in Charted Space would persuade (misJumps notwithstanding) my players to go anywhere near a Red Zoned planet, but you never know.

* For all its limits, this has been wonderful to have at home during the lockdown just to give my eyes a break from a backlit screen.  I'm now seeing alerts for the mk2 which is coming out and am now sorely tempted to get my own...
(It was great to be able to read really easily in bright sun shine - another advantage of the thing)
