Sounds like a very nice adventure. Rather makes me wish that I were a player rather than a GM.
Well I know exactly what you mean.
One of the reasons I'm running The Traveller Adventure is because I so wanted to play it and there had been no opportunity across much of my life. And then there nearly was when someone threatened to run it at TravCon but that fell through. I was very disappointed esp as I'd been willing to play in every slot it ran while others could dip and out. I snapped and thought I'd see if there was any interest in running it locally in Portsmouth afterwards. And there was. Just about. Five year(!) later we're on part XXIII!
It's not the same as getting to play it obviously. But I take my fun in it where I can and I throw myself into NPCs as best I'm able, so it has to suffice.
And I am, of course, hugely engaged with and familiar with the whole[1] thing now whereas previously it was something I'd read and sort of remembered bits of.
Which is also what's happened to Annic Nova which we just did as a 'side adventure' within TTA on Thursday. And I'm writing up now for TML. It's funny how it's come alive and seems a much more fun adventure than on paper!
Last year at TravCon I thought I'd recycle the prep I'd done for TTA rather than create new adventures. I couldn't realistically run the whole thing across all 7 slots of the weekend, as I was sorely tempted to do. (Energy levels would have precluded it and I doubt any players would have committed to that and nothing else) (plus I want to play! - see above), but I offered three 'Scenes from TTA' (ended up just doing two for reasons- see Freelance Traveller write up) and that worked well as I was essentially doing highlights. (Leedor on Aramis and Pysadian Escapade)
One experienced ref said after playing in both that he could tell I really loved TTA (which is probably fair - although I can see some flaws more easily) but I must ask him this year what it is that gave him that impression.
Right, must get back to my write up for you all.

[Actually, that's not quite true. I'm still getting to the last three chapters in detail. Once we've stopped all this faffing around waiting for the timing of Trade War to line up]
