Thanks Jeff,

Can probably do that without much hassle. Power interface from Robots would do that for the machine shop version, and I suppose you can plug it into the vehicle for the trailer version as well …

Best regards,

Ewan

This is pretty neat, and something I could see being used in warehouses and factories.

One suggestion though....

Extension cord.

If you're using it to move crates and stuff inside a warehouse or factory floor, then having a power cord wouldn't be much of an issue.

Even if you're using it around a military camp, or construction site, a 50 meter cord that plugs into the power plant of the vehicle you're unloading and lets you move the stuff wouldn't get in the way much.

And that gets you around the fuel cell issue.

Evening All,

I had this down as one of my vehicles to design, and looking though the Adjutant the other day I came across something very similar they had for the Army. So I designed my initial one @ TL9 to be able to re-design it @ TL10 ..

This original grav machinery mover is a grav sled designed and built by Home Lift Manufacturing a construction equipment specialist on Home that went bankrupt and was acquired by County Corporation during the liquidation process.

This version of the Machinery Mover can lift up to 900kg of machinery, is restricted to 0.1G Acceleration and rises up 0.5m from the ground as standard although hover height is adjustable. The controls are an umbilical attached to the sled, and the sled will move in the direction indicated on the controls if the direction and the move buttons are continually depressed, otherwise the sled will stop.

This version of the Machinery Mover has a number of design floors. The inertia of the mass that the sled is moving would cause it to continue if the sled stopped suddenly, such as by the operator releasing both move and direction buttons at once, especially due to the lightweight nature of the sled itself and the battery life being severely limited.

The Machinery Mover is 3 m x 1.6 m x 1m and most of the volume and weight are the batteries, for which replacement costs are Cr 1,423 at TL9

So either like the above, or as a trailer with sides attached to a Grav Vehicle …

The County Corporation Machinery Mover – Grav Sled is a redesigned vehicle based on a designed it acquired when picked up Home Lift Manufacturing (a construction equipment specialist) that went into liquidation. The Machinery Mover – Grav Sled is designed to move equipment up to 1 ton in weigh. It is restricted to 0.1G acceleration and raises 0.5m from the ground (although hover height is adjustable).

The controls are an umbilical attached to the sled, and the sled will move in the direction indicated on the controls if the direction and the move buttons are continually depressed, otherwise the sled will stop. In addition the sled has a towing attachment that can be connected to a grav vehicle, or to be able to link multiple sleds together.

There are deployable sides to the sled, normally folded away, that can be deployed to create a basket arrangement to help to contain the what is put on the sled. In addition to the folding sides the sled has inertial compensation to ensure what is being carried does not affect the movement of the sled when being used as a Machinery Mover or as a trailer.

The Machinery Mover – Grav Sled is 2.90m x 1.7m x 1m in dimensions (however most of the volume of the craft is just empty space) in order to fit into a standard 4 or 8 ton cargo container.

County Corporation markets the Machinery Mover – Grav Sled into the construction market, as well as the Home Military.

The issue with this one is that the fuel of the Fuel Cell messes with the weigh of the craft, so while there is lots of space to put more fuel, the more you put in the more weight you have and thus you have to add grav units and then more fuel cells to power them, so you get a decreasing return. There is loads of space for cargo, but if you use it as cargo you the same thing happens as with the fuel (it messes with the weight) so I just ignored it. The cargo is supposed to go on top of it not in it.

You should be able to put on a Heavy Robot Arm as well without giving it too much of an issue for a variant like this https://hookup-solutions.com/ I might look at that as a variant (but not today …)

Best regards,

Ewan
