The calculation that return a crew of 50 are found on MT Referee's Manual Craft Design 8 - Bridge Step 2 Control Points page 81 and 9 - Accommodation Step 7 Gunners page 82.

Craft Design 8 - Bridge Step 2 Control Points page 81:

Computer Model 1 Control Point Multiplier =10

Weapons Control Points = (Price/1,000,000) x TL

100 ton bay price = 1,000,000 + Missile System = 20,000,000 = 21,000,000

Weapon Control Points = (21,000,000/100,000) x 12 = 2520

9 - Accommodation Step 7 Gunners page 82

Gunners (Cg): modified by MT Consolidated Errata p. 38

Cg = (W + F)/C/10, If computed Cg exceeds 50, then recompute Cg instead as: Cg = 50 + (((W +F)/C)/500) (drop fractions)

W = Weapons CP; F = Screens CP; C = Computer CP Multiplier

Drat, I found that I missed the 10 in the first equation and then in my formula I reversed two formulas. However, the new crew requirement is

(2520 + 0)/10/10 = 2520/10/10 = 252/10 = 25.2 dropping the fraction = 25.
