Reminder to register for the 3rd annual North Texas Serials Workshop! It will be January 10, 2020 at the University of Dallas. The workshop provides opportunities to discuss various topics including those every day challenges of
the serials lifecycle. Morning sessions will feature Mark Smith, director & librarian of the Texas State Library & Archives Commission, as our keynote speaker, as well as Lisa Furubotten, Texas A&M University – College Station Director of Cataloging & Metadata,
as the workshop featured speaker this year. Her session “What are the serials catalogers thinking?!!” will give an overview of the principles and concepts behind serials cataloging. Lisa has provided serials cataloging training for CONSER and SCCTP
for over 15 years.
Afternoon sessions will include presentations and discussions on moving to COUNTER 5, using authentication systems (Open Athens and EZ Proxy) and implementing CORAL ERM. The day concludes with a panel discussion on the marketing and promotion
of serials & e-resources.
Registration is $25. Visit the 2020 NTSW website for the schedule, program descriptions, and to register:
