NOTSL will hold its Fall Meeting on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Parma-Snow Branch Auditorium, 2121 Snow Road in Parma, Ohio.
Bobby Bothmann, Metadata & Emerging Technologies Librarian at Minnesota State University, Mankato, will explore the principles of bibliographic description for objects through the lens of cataloging theory as taught by Osborn, Lubetzky, and Svenonious and scrutinize examples from tool libraries to public library bicycles. Anne Drozd, Museum Coordinator at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at The Ohio State University, will discuss how we can connect with our patrons while collecting unusual collections such as sewing machines, theremins, and original art. Finally, we will wrap up the day with a panel discussion led by librarians from Akron-Summit County Public Library, Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland Public Library, and Columbus College of Art & Design.
Registration is now open for Wrangling Realia and Other Random Resources. All are welcome; membership is conferred on all attendees.
