We claim. I can’t imagine not doing so, to be honest. Sometimes Ebsco orders titles for three years but the publisher doesn’t accept 3 year orders, so we stop getting the title after one year. Not catching that could mean us being out
thousands of dollars if the claim period is past. I’ve just had too many issues with publishers in the past to abandon the process completely.
I use ALMA’s missing issue report, and I also go through the collection manually every month or so to ensure everything is there. ALMA doesn’t always catch issues. I claim through Ebsco or directly.

Subject: [SERIALST] Claiming Print Periodicals
Good Morning,
We are in the process of reviewing our claiming procedures and wanted to check-in with other libraries to see what folks were doing.
Basically, is your library claiming print periodicals, and if yes, how so?
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Best,
Chris
