We also claim print periodicals although it can be a frustrating process.  Most of our titles come through EBSCO which offers online claiming capability but sometimes requires intervention by our customer service rep.  We run claims monthly in Sierra, review them to see if the publication is behind or if the publication schedule may have changed, then claim them in EBSCOnet.  We do it monthly because some publishers have a small window for claims. After claiming twice in EBSCOnet without result I will email our rep.  I would guess our success rate for claims runs around 75%.
