Hi Chris,
Like Steve, we definitely claim print periodicals. Most of ours come from EBSCO, so I claim through EBSCONET. (If ordered directly,
I’ll email the relevant subscription department). In a couple of instances, there had been a miscommunication regarding a renewal, and we were missing a number of issues, not just one or two. EBSCO indicated that the publisher would not provide these missing
issues. However, I did have success in both cases by contacting the publisher directly, pointing out that we had been long term subscribers and that our students really valued their publication. Overall, I’ve found both EBSCO and publishers to be great.
Kind regards,
Detta

Subject: [SERIALST] Claiming Print Periodicals
Good Morning,
We are in the process of reviewing our claiming procedures and wanted to check-in with other libraries to see what folks were doing.
Basically, is your library claiming print periodicals, and if yes, how so?
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Best,
Chris
