Hi Everyone!
The ALCTS CRS Continuing Resources Cataloging Committee is pleased to announce its Forum at the ALA Midwinter conference:
Time: Monday, January 28, 2019; 1:00-2:30 pm
Location: Hyatt Regency Seattle, Regency A (Upper Ballroom West)
Title: Diachronic Works, the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), and RDA: Three Perspectives
Description:
As we move further into the world of RDA and the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), one of the concepts under development is a distinction between “diachronic” and “static” works. This change
in how we think of resources issued over time will be important as libraries transition to the new RDA. This forum will focus on the impact of the LRM and the diachronic works on
serials cataloging using RDA, related LC-PCC policy statements, and how the concept of the diachronic
works relates to the practices of the ISSN Network.
Speakers:
Ed Jones, National University, San Diego; Chair, Serials Task Force of the RDA Steering Committee Aggregates Work Group
Les Hawkins, Library of Congress; CONSER Coordinator
Regina Reynolds, Library of Congress; Director, U.S. ISSN Center
Thank you and hope to see you there!
