Hi Everyone!

The ALCTS CRS Continuing Resources Cataloging Committee is pleased to announce its Forum at the ALA Midwinter conference:

Time:  Monday, January 28, 2019; 1:00-2:30 pm

Location: the Hyatt, Upper Ballroom West

Title:   Diachronic Works, the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), and RDA: Three Perspectives

Description:  As we move further into the world of RDA and the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), one of the concepts under development is a distinction between “diachronic” and “static” works. This change in how we think of resources issued over time will be important as libraries transition to the new RDA . This forum will focus on the impact of the LRM and the diachronic work on serials cataloging using RDA, related LC-PCC policy statements, and how the concept of the diachronic work relates to the practices of the ISSN Network.

Speakers:

Ed Jones, National University, San Diego; Chair, Serials Task Force of the RDA Steering Committee Aggregates Work Group

Les Hawkins, Library of Congress; CONSER Coordinator

Regina Reynolds, Library of Congress; Director, U.S. ISSN Center

Thank you and hope to see you there!
