You can try TunnelBear. I learned about it from either SERIALST or ERIL.  It’s free for low usage scenarios.

Pro-tip: If you VPN into your work computer from elsewhere, don’t try to run TunnelBear on said work computer. Everything will crash (VPN within VPN turns into an divide-by-zero scenario).

We are trying to figure out the best way to check off campus access of our electronic resources when we are ON campus.  We use EZ Proxy for authentication off campus.  If you would share how your institution checks access when your users call with problems, or when you are performing setup or general checking of resources. 

If you could also say who performs the checking when problem notices come in.  Is it the electronic resources person, reference librarian on duty, help desk person … ?
