It’s nice because you can try different browsers, operating systems & desktop/mobile.

I’m not sure how much a subscription costs.

I usually do the same as everyone here and check on my phone, but when I have a lot of testing to do, or if I'm testing video I borrow a wifi hotspot from our IT department which allows me to test in an off-campus environment.

I do the same -- shut off wifi on my phone and use data. And check from home. I suppose I could run across the road to the coffee shop if I needed to and log in from there.

Hi Michelle,

At work. I take my cell phone off our wifi, switch to my data, see if I can access the database/journal/ebook. Admittedly this adds the mobile formatting issue into it. I sometimes also check at home, if it's an ongoing issue. I'm the Electronic Resources Librarian (with a creative job title), and I'm usually the one who checks. Our Systems librarian as well, if we think it's a proxy server issue.

We are trying to figure out the best way to check off campus access of our electronic resources when we are ON campus.  We use EZ Proxy for authentication off campus.  If you would share how your institution checks access when your users call with problems, or when you are performing setup or general checking of resources.

If you could also say who performs the checking when problem notices come in.  Is it the electronic resources person, reference librarian on duty, help desk person … ?

Thank you for your input.
