We also use EZ Proxy for authentication.

In addition to my regular desktop work PC, I have a second PC that is intentionally not placed on our network and has an outside connection.

I requested this specifically so I could troubleshoot problems with resources when they are reported and check that proper set up has been done for new resources.

Most of our reference staff have personal mobile devices they can use to check if someone reports an issue.  If needed, the issue is then passed on to me for resolution.

Best regards,

Subject: [SERIALST] Checking off campus access of E-Resources

We are trying to figure out the best way to check off campus access of our electronic resources when we are ON campus.  We use EZ Proxy for authentication off campus.  If you would share how your institution checks access when your users call with problems, or when you are performing setup or general checking of resources.

If you could also say who performs the checking when problem notices come in.  Is it the electronic resources person, reference librarian on duty, help desk person … ?

Thank you for your input.
