We still have several print subscriptions. We have recently stopped binding and there have been several suggestions that we stop claiming. Each time someone brings up ceasing claiming I argue against it. There are a few titles every year that fail to renew correctly and we stop receiving issues. As students do all the receiving claiming is the only way to catch problems when they are occurring.

Subject: [SERIALST] Still Claiming Serials?

As a spin-off of sorts to the recent thread on Serials Assistant duties, I would be curious to hear from any libraries that have decided to cease the practice of claiming serials and the reasoning behind your decision and how it has gone for you.

Feel free to reply here or contact me directly.

Thanks much.
