***** APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING *****

I’m just passing on some news that may be of interest to readers of Serialist regarding EDP Sciences. They have today signed a licensing deal with Tsinghua University Press in Beijing to translate two titles published by TUP into French and so broaden their dissemination to the community of researchers who live and work in French speaking countries. The titles are the award winning "Beautiful Chemistry" and also "Beautiful Structures and Beautiful Reactions".

EDP Sciences are actively engaged with researchers and their institutions in China, this partnership underpins that, and will further increase their profile in this market.

The full press release is at the following link http://bit.ly/EDP_TUP and below, please contact me or Agnès Henri (Agnes.henri@edpsciences.com) if you have any questions.

Warm regards

EDP Sciences and Tsinghua University Press sign key licensing deal in China

Paris, Tuesday 11th March 2017. EDP Sciences has today signed an important licensing deal with Tsinghua University Press (TUP) part of the prestigious Tsinghua University based in Beijing, China.

The deal will see two of TUP’s chemistry publications translated into French for dissemination into the important community of researchers who live and work in French speaking countries. The titles are: Beautiful Chemistry which was first launched as a digital program and is a winner of Vizzies Visualisation Challenge awarded by the National Science Foundation and Popular Science magazine in the USA, the other is Beautiful Structures and Beautiful Reactions.

“We are deeply honoured to sign an agreement with such a prestigious organization as TUP”, said Jean Marc Quilbé President of EDP Sciences, “this partnership builds on EDP’s continued commitment for building relationships and engaging with Chinese academic institutions. On the one hand we support dissemination of their content outside of China, and on the other, we are increasing the profile of EDP in this important market”.

The President of Tsinghau University Press, Zong Junfeng says, “EDP Sciences attracts us because of their academic background and their pursuit of dissemination of knowledge and scientific information. We sincerely hope that the signing ceremony on March 7th will be a starting point, and both sides can widen and deepen our cooperation in the future, and so fulfill our effort to bring more quality products to the widest possible audience.”

Dr Matthias Wahls the publishing consultant who has supported EDP Sciences with their efforts in China said, “I am honoured to support EDP Sciences in developing their deep interest in Chinese academic publishing affairs. TUP’s Beautiful Chemistry and Beautiful Structures and Beautiful Reactions will be made accessible to the French speaking audience in 2017, therefore bringing first class publications from China to France and other French speaking nations. Exporting one of the first of its academic works into the French language sets a new and very important milestone in China’s ‘Going Global’ initiative.” Dr Wahls continued, “some promising discussions and negotiations with other academic publishers in China are expected to result in additional partnerships for EDP Sciences in the P.R. China”.

Subject: Cambridge Core launches a new citation tool

You may have noticed that our ‘Export citation’ function has changed over the last couple of days. We are delighted to announce the launch of our new citation tool, powered by Easybib.

Our previous citation tool was provided by RefME and following RefME’s acquisition by Chegg, the RefME widget is no longer available. The launch of our new tool ensures users’ ability to export citations continues.

Our new citation tool allows users to export a citation for an article, book, or chapter, from its respective landing page, any content listing, or search result. Users can also export citations for multiple pieces of content at one time, using the selection boxes.

In order to use the new tool for the first time, you may need to clear your cache, or press F5, as your browser may have cached the old version of the tool.

Researchers can choose from approximately 150 citation styles, including Bibtex, and their choice will be remembered for the duration of their browsing session. Citations can be copied, or exported to a .txt document.

We have selected 150 of the most commonly used citation styles for the launch of the new tool. However, if you find that any of the citation styles commonly used in your institution are missing then please get in touch with us through your usual contact, or on academictechsupport@cambridge.org and we will investigate adding this style.

We will continue to build on our new citation tool to ensure it offers the best possible service to our users. We are currently working on a number of improvements, including the ability to export citations to RIS, Word, and Easybib, which we hope to share with you soon.
