Hi Jennifer,

Kanopy has a PDA program that you can limit to just the PBS films and select either a 1-year or 3-year license for films that are triggered. In looking at my university’s program, the PBS package includes 543 films. These can be embedded into course management systems. Kanopy’s customer service is outstanding and their admin dashboard provides a wealth of information for analysis.

But when it comes to perpetuity, I have not come across vendors that provide that for PBS streaming films.

Subject: [SERIALST] PBS streaming videos

[Apologies in advance if this is not the correct listserv to use for this question]

Does anyone know of a way to subscribe to PBS streaming videos?  I have tried to contact PBS directly, but never get any response.

I wish they had a database of their streaming videos for our college to purchase/subscribe to.

Our faculty are constantly requesting PBS films. We are an online college, so we need them to be in streaming format, and often these are very hard to track down.

Currently, we get some titles through our Alexander Street Press subscriptions, but those are on a rolling expiration cycle, so having them in perpetuity is unreliable. We also get some titles individually from Kanopy.

Any other tips on where to find these PBS videos?

Thank you in advance!

Jennifer
