Hello everyone,

I am a first year LIS student and volunteer at a special library (H.N. Pullar at the Textile Museum of Canada). Up until last year, the H.N. Pullar library used Inmagic to manage our records for books and journals. We had two separate files, one for monographs, one for serials. No records existed for each journal, but rather for each article.

We have since migrated to Koha and all records were imported into this platform, including monographs and serials, in MARC format. This may not be widespread practice but given the small size of our library and the needs of the museum curators, having article information in our catalogue is useful to them. I have a few questions:

1) I found this document from 2003 regarding field 773: https://www.loc.gov/marc/marbi/2003/2003-03.html

I believe that our current import shows the journal title on field 246 and page numbers on field 300. If your library catalogues articles, what fields do you use? If you don't catalogue articles, how would you do it?

2) Regarding the article itself, do you keep the author as the main entry in 100 and the article title as an added entry in 245? Or do you use different fields?

3) Are you aware of any way to link records, so that someone looking at the article can click to see the record and holdings for the journal itself?

Any ideas/input would be much appreciated. Feel free to browse our--in progress--catalogue if you want to get a better idea of its current status and how it might be improved:
